Interim IT leadership or a fractional CTO/CIO: two different roles

Below is a typical week. If you're not sure which role fits, we'll work it out together on the first call.

Interim IT leadershipusually 3 to 18 months

4 to 5 days a week

Fractional CIO & CTOusually 6 months or longer

1 or 2 days a week

Interim IT leadership

  • Usually 4 to 5 days a week, for 3 to 18 months.
  • For a gap: your IT manager or CIO has left, or a programme needs a leader now.
  • Ends when the permanent hire starts or the programme lands.
  • Day rate on request.

Fractional CIO & CTO

  • Usually 1 or 2 days a week, for 6 months or longer.
  • CIO: for organisations where IT supports the business. Sets IT strategy and budget, manages suppliers and reports to the board.
  • CTO: for companies whose product is software. Owns the architecture, leads the engineering team and shapes the product roadmap.
  • A fixed monthly fee, agreed up front.

What else we do

One senior point of contact for all your IT. Every engagement starts with a proposal with scope and price.

Get a stalled IT project back on track

Decisions stall, the supplier and your team work past each other, go-live keeps slipping. The Programme Recovery Review shows you within 3 weeks whether to continue, reset or stop. To start smaller, there is the Project Health Check: 5 working days to see where your project stands and what to do next.

See the Recovery Review

After that, programme assurance keeps an independent eye on a running programme. For a review of all your IT there is the IT audit, or start with the free IT quick scan.

ERP implementation

A legacy system that has to be replaced, a month-end close still done in spreadsheets, or an ERP project that is not getting off the ground. We start with a paid discovery: processes, requirements, risks and a fixed price. Then the Odoo or ERPNext implementation, the migration and the integrations.

AI & security

Know which AI your staff use and with what data, and answer the security questions your customers ask. Practical, with the most important measures first and no promise of certification.
