ERPNext implementation with a clear scope and migration plan
Implement, upgrade or recover ERPNext. Every engagement starts with a paid discovery of your processes, requirements and risks. After it you get a plan with a fixed price, and you know what ERPNext will cost you and what it will not do.
At a glance
What is ERPNext?
ERPNext is open-source ERP software for accounting, stock, sales, purchasing and projects, among other things. The software itself is free to use; the cost of an ERPNext implementation is in the implementation work, the hosting and the maintenance. LogicX starts every ERPNext engagement with a paid discovery and quotes a fixed price after it.
Sound familiar?
What organisations bring to us when they are considering ERPNext or already run it.
Free software, unknown cost
ERPNext has no licence fee, but nobody can tell you what implementation, hosting and maintenance will cost in your case.
Still on version 14
Your installation runs on a version that has been out of support since 31 January 2026, with customisation nobody can explain any more.
Disconnected systems
Web shop, bank and carriers run beside the ERP, and data gets re-keyed.
Numbers after manual work
Stock value, revenue and receivables are only known once someone has assembled them from exports.
A project that keeps slipping
Go-live has moved and the supplier reports green, while finance still closes the month in spreadsheets.
Started in-house, now too big
Someone installed and configured ERPNext themselves, and now it suddenly has to carry the whole organisation.
How an ERPNext engagement works
Free software is exactly why preparation matters: the cost is in the work around it.
Paid discovery
Usually 1 to 3 weeks: processes, requirements, risks, and whether ERPNext covers your core processes as standard.
Plan with a fixed price
Phases, schedule, hosting and maintenance choices, and a fixed price for the work. No commitment.
Implementation or upgrade
Only on the basis of that plan: configuration, data migration, testing with your key users, a go-live with a fallback plan.
After go-live
Support in the first weeks. Then, by agreement, updates, backups and a named contact.
What we do with ERPNext
Stalled ERPNext project
The Programme Recovery Review: in 3 weeks, a written recommendation to continue, reset or stop. Or the Project Health Check first, 5 working days.

Who it is for
Organisations considering ERPNext because they want no licence cost, but do want a plan they can rely on. Organisations already on ERPNext that need to upgrade or integrate. And organisations with an ERPNext project that is not landing.
Not for
Organisations with a handful of users and standard processes: starting with the standard edition yourself is usually cheaper. We do not do SAP, Oracle or Dynamics. And anyone who insists on an implementer from an official partner list: our advice is independent, which also means we can advise against ERPNext.
After go-live
ERPNext runs reliably when someone looks after the updates, backups and integrations. After the first weeks of support, LogicX can keep doing that: updates and security patches tested before they go live, monitored backups with a restore test, functional administration of permissions and reports, and a named contact. Whether and how is agreed per client; the terms belong in the proposal, not on this page.
Frequently asked questions: cost
Is ERPNext free?
Yes. The software is open source and free to use. You pay for implementation, hosting and maintenance, or for a hosted service if you choose one.
What does an ERPNext implementation cost?
It depends on scope, number of users, integrations and data migration. For a small or mid-sized company an implementation usually starts from €10,000, excluding VAT. You get the exact figure after a paid discovery, in a plan with a fixed price.
Frappe Cloud or our own server?
Either. What fits depends on who maintains the system, what you require for data and backups, and how much customisation you have. The discovery sets the options side by side; the choice is yours.
Frequently asked questions: approach
Why use an ERPNext consultant if the software is free?
Because the cost and the risk sit in the work around the software: requirements, data migration, integrations, testing and maintenance. An independent ERPNext consultant maps that before you commit, and gives you a plan you can hold anyone to.
How long does an ERPNext implementation take?
Usually a few months, depending on scope, migration and integrations. The discovery of usually 1 to 3 weeks comes first and produces the schedule.
Can we implement ERPNext ourselves?
With a handful of users and standard processes, starting with the standard edition yourself is usually cheaper. Once migration, integrations or several departments come into it, a discovery pays off: it shows where you need help and where you do not.
Odoo or ERPNext?
We work with both and advise independently. The difference is in the licence model, hosting, customisation and who maintains the system. The discovery gives the answer for your situation.
Frequently asked questions: after go-live
What happens after go-live?
The first weeks are support for questions and small corrections. After that we can, by agreement, take on maintenance: updates, monitored backups with a restore test, functional administration and a named contact. Terms are agreed per client.
How long is my ERPNext version supported?
Version 14 has been out of support since 31 January 2026. Which version you run and what an upgrade involves, we look at in a short discovery of your installation and customisation.
