Define your ERP scope before implementation

Before you choose an ERP system or sign a quote, we map your processes, requirements and risks in usually 1 to 3 weeks. You get a plan with a fixed price for the implementation, and no obligation to continue with us.

What is a paid ERP discovery?

A paid ERP discovery is a short, fixed-scope piece of work, usually 1 to 3 weeks, in which LogicX records your processes, requirements and risks before any system is chosen or configured. The result is a plan with a fixed price for the implementation. The plan is yours: carry it out with us, with another party, or not yet.

Sound familiar?

  • You face a major IT investment and want independent advice before you choose.
  • You have a quote for Odoo or ERPNext and cannot tell whether the scope and assumptions hold.
  • A replacement or upgrade is planned, and the current system is full of customisation that nobody fully understands any more.
  • The organisation is growing faster than its systems, and nobody has the processes written down.
  • Staff re-key data between systems, and you want to know what an ERP would really fix.
  • A previous ERP project failed, and this time you want the facts first.

How the discovery works

Four steps, with the people who do the work.

Step 1

Processes

Interviews with the people who do the work every day. How your organisation runs today, and where it pinches.

Step 2

Requirements

What the system must do, what the standard edition of Odoo or ERPNext already covers, and where customisation is really needed.

Step 3

Risks

Data, integrations and customisation that need extra attention, and what that means for plan and budget.

Step 4

Plan and price

A schedule, the decisions that are yours to make, and a fixed price for the implementation. Discussed with your management.

What you get

A process map

Your core processes and the systems and data flows around them, in one overview.

Requirements and decisions

What standard covers, what needs customisation, and which choices are still yours to make.

A plan with a fixed price

Phases, schedule, risks and a fixed price for the implementation. Or the advice not to start yet.

Who it is for / Not for

Who it is for

Organisations considering Odoo or ERPNext, replacing a legacy system, or wanting a solid basis for an ERP quote. Also when a partner is already in the picture: the plan then becomes the yardstick for their proposal.

Not for

Projects on SAP, Oracle or Dynamics. Organisations with a handful of users and standard processes: starting with the standard edition yourself is usually cheaper than a discovery. And anyone looking for an implementer from Odoos partner list: our advice is independent and we do not sell licences.

The plan is yours. We explain why we recommend a platform and receive no fees from suppliers. If we also propose the implementation, that is a separate engagement; you can carry out the plan with another party.

What happens after the discovery

If you choose to implement with us, the work runs in phases: configuration, data migration, testing and training with your key users, a go-live with a fallback plan and support in the first weeks. That takes a team we select and manage, and time from your people. That is why it only appears in a proposal once the discovery shows it fits.

After go-live

The discovery also records what the system will need after go-live: who keeps up updates and backups, how customisation is carried through an upgrade, and who your contact is. That can be LogicX, on terms agreed per client, or your own IT or another party.

Frequently asked questions: cost

What does an ERP discovery cost?

A fixed price, set in the proposal after the first call. How much work it is depends on the number of processes and systems we need to look at.

Do I get a fixed price for the implementation afterwards?

Yes. The plan includes a fixed price for the implementation as we would do it, based on what we saw in the discovery rather than on an estimate made up front.

What if we do nothing after the discovery?

Then you hold a process map, a requirements list and a plan you can use later or elsewhere. There is no commitment.

Frequently asked questions: approach

How long does an ERP discovery take?

Usually 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the number of processes and systems.

What do you need from us?

Time from the people who run the processes day to day, a view of your current systems and, if there is one, the quote or proposal you want checked.

Do you also choose the package?

We work with Odoo and ERPNext and advise independently on which of the two fits, or whether neither does. We do not sell Odoo licences.

Frequently asked questions: after go-live

Does the discovery also cover support after go-live?

The discovery names what is needed: updates, backups with a restore test, upgrades that keep customisation working and a named contact. Whether LogicX provides it is agreed separately, per client.
